FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Gianna Infantino shocks the world with addition of a MLS club

FIFA Club World Cup 2025 : FIFA president Gianni Infantino has confirmed that Major League Soccer outfit, Inter Miami have qualified for the Club World Cup courtesy of winning the MLS Supporters’ Shield.

The 54-year-old announced that the decision was taken over selecting December’s MLS Cup winner. It does mean that the club, co-owned by David Beckham and captained by Lionel Messi will be at the global club tournament next year.

Infantino made the announcement after the club’s 6-2 win over New England Revolution in the early hours of Sunday, where Lionel Messi came off the bench to bag a hat-trick.

Gianni Infantino confirms Inter Miami FIFA Club World Cup Spot

Inter Miami becomes the 31st confirmed team four the tournament with one more remaining, which will be the winner of the Copa Libertadores, to be known in November.

Club Atletico Mineiro, River Plate, Botafogo RJ and Penarol are the four teams remaining in the tournament, which has reached the semi final stage.

Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets will all line-up for Inter Miami in the Club World Cup provided they remain at the club until 2025.

Hard Rock Stadium will host the opening game of the tournament, as exclusively revealed by the FIFA president, Infantino.
